Natalia Jacobs

My name is Natalia Jacobs. I am a dancer, choreographer, storyteller, educator, and truly just someone who loves to boogie. I started Irish Step Dancing at the age of 3 with the Celtic Heels School of Irish Dance, where I later taught and choreographed. I am an alumni of the Pioneer Valley School of The Preforming Arts where I studied numerous forms and started my training as a choreographer. Throughout my career, I have studied many forms of dance from the Celtic and Afro-Latin diaspora. I later trained in musical-theatre adjacent forms at I Can Do That NYC, School of Theatre and Dance. I was a Dance and Theatre minor at Bates College, performing numerous times in the Bates Fall Dance Concert, The Marcy Plavin Spring Dance Concert, Bates Cultural Showcase, and P'al Mundo Showcase. I was also a member of the Bates Bollywood Dance Team and choreographed for multiple productions of the Bates Student Theatre Club, The Robinson Players. My Senior Thesis "Migrating Movements, The Shared History of Jazz Dance and American Agriculture: Creation, Cooptation, and Reclamation" ignited my passion for dance history. I am now completing my Masters in Musical Theatre at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. I also have 10 years of experience working as an educator in the environmental sector, and draw on these skills as an educator in the arts. I aim to bring a culture of enthusiasm, curiosity, collaboration, and joy to creative spaces. I am particularly interested in the intersection between the arts, ecology, and cultural tradition and using interdisciplinary modes of storytelling to uplift forgotten shared histories. Dance Forms Include: Irish Step, Tap, Jazz, Salsa, Hip-Hop, Ballet, Guinean, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Bollywood, Improv
