Wedding Dance Teacher (Freelance) — Wolverhampton

Wedding Dance Ballroom Latin Salsa Instant Access

Job Description

About the role

Dance Centre UK is looking for a freelance wedding dance teacher to cover Wolverhampton and the surrounding area — Willenhall, Bilston, Codsall and the Black Country.

You'll teach private first dance lessons to engaged couples: taking their chosen song, building a routine that suits their ability, and getting them confident enough to enjoy the moment rather than survive it. Most couples are complete beginners. Some book four to six lessons in the run-up to the wedding; others turn up two weeks out in a panic wanting a two-hour intensive.

Lessons take place at partner studios around central Wolverhampton or at the couple's home or wedding venue. Bookings are mainly evenings and weekends.

What you'll be doing

Choreographing bespoke first dance routines to the couple's song
Teaching one-to-one couple sessions, typically 60-90 minutes
Adapting styles — waltz, foxtrot, salsa, jive, Charleston, or a natural sway-and-spin — to what the couple can realistically pull off
Filming run-throughs so couples can practise between lessons
Occasional father-daughter dances and group wedding party routines

What we offer

From £40 per hour, paid per lesson taught
All enquiries, marketing and booking admin handled for you
Steady flow of local work — we've been running wedding dance lessons since 2007
Work the hours that suit you, take the bookings you want
Opportunities to pick up weekly class work alongside

To apply: send a short note about your dance background, the styles you teach and your Wolverhampton-area availability.

Requirements

Solid partner dance ability across at least a couple of styles
Experience choreographing to a set track, not just teaching set syllabus figures
Patience with nervous, non-dancing beginners — this is most of the work
Reliable, professional and good with people on a high-stakes day
Public liability insurance (or willing to arrange it)
Own transport is an advantage for venue-based lessons
