Job Description
MF Dance is expanding into the Hampshire area, and we are looking for a confident, passionate and highly motivated Lead Street Dance Instructor to join our growing team. As a Lead Instructor, you will deliver high-quality street dance classes to ages 3 and above. You will support student development, and take ownership of class delivery, choreography and progression.
The role is perfect for someone who loves working with children, has strong teaching experience and is ready to lead with energy, professionalism, and creativity. For the right candidate, this position offers long-term growth and the opportunity to build a full-time career within MF Dance.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead street dance classes for children aged 3+.
• Deliver the MF Dance Curriculum.
• Mentor, guide and support Assistant Instructors to ensure smooth class delivery.
• Teach choreography, technique and performance skills.
• Create a positive, inclusive and high energy learning environment.
• Provide individual feedback and support students of all abilities.
• Plan and deliver, warm-ups, drills and choreography with creative freedom.
• Manage class preparation, including music, equipment and set-up.
• Ensure safety, safeguarding and well-being of all students.
• Keep on top of administrative tasks such as attendance, student notes and parent communication.
• With support and provided resources, actively market your classes consistently throughout the year.
• Lead the organisation of performance opportunities, showcases and events.
• Always represent MF Dance professionally, acting as a role model for students and assistants.
Hours
• Part-time initially.
• Classes will be held on weekday evenings and/or weekends.
• Additional weekend training, workshops, and development opportunities available.
• Potential to increase hours and progress into a full-time role for the right candidate.

Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
• Strong passion for street dance and teaching.
• Previous experience teaching dance.
• Confident working with children and young people of all ages.
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, approachable manner.
• Ability to lead classes independently and manage behaviour positively.
• Organised, reliable, and proactive in planning and organising classes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with assistants and the wider MF Dance team.
